quick touch feature for ax3000

Hello everyone
I've got the mesh network all set up, and it's working perfectly throughout the house—really impressed with how well it performs!

One thing I haven't been able to figure out is the quick touch feature on top of the device. When I place my phone over it, it doesn't automatically join the Wi-Fi network. Is this feature supposed to work with Apple iPhones?
My device is  WL-WN551X3-B WiFi6 Mesh System
